Rubato Appassionato: Sparkling, virtuoso & different 18th century music

Rubato Appassionato was founded in the year 2000 at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. The ensemble devotes itself exclusively to baroque music, exploring the beauty and elegance of the 18th century. The unique combination of instruments opens doors to creativity and originality while remaining faithful to the spirit and aesthetics of baroque music. The repertoire embraces music from Spain, Italy, Germany, France and England, containing pieces which are both exquisite and virtuous. Passionate for the research of forgotten and unknown Spanish compositions, the ensemble imposes on itself the goal of capturing these musical gems and offer them to the public. The use of the cello as a harmonic instrument playing the basso continuo is a historical performance-practice that is very seldom explored in today’s concert halls which gives a very sparkling, brilliant and fresh color. Rubato Appassionato has been selected to perform in the circuits of the Oficina de Difusión Artística de la Diputación de Barcelona, Juventudes Musicales de Cataluña and the Diputación de Sevilla. The ensemble has performed all over Spain, Holland and Israel and has recorded with the labels La mà de guido / LMG2068 (ES) and MA Recordings / MO75A (JAP-USA).
